CRAFT SHOW TIME! and a digital freebie

Tomorrow's the big day— first show of the season for me. I try to do one a month or so from March through December, with the biggest ones in October-November. That's when lots of people who buy handmade do their holiday shopping. Last year, in an October show, there was a family with the "booth" next to mine (they had a table) who made Christmas ornaments that were clear glass balls which they painted with snowmen (one to represent each member of the family). Those things sold like crazy! They had to leave several times to get more balls. I was impressed.

It reminds me of one Christmas when my youngest two were seven and eight. We had no money for Christmas that year. Literally. No. Money. But my enterprising young'uns went into the woods near our house (we lived on the edge of the Santa Fe National Forest) and got "supplies" to make reindeer. Then they took them down into town and sold them, making $300 in the process. But here's the real shocker. Are you ready? Got your tissue handy? They gave every last penny to Compassion International for orphans. We were so proud. When we asked them why, they replied that we have each other, but orphans don't have families to hug them and pop corn and play games and love each other. We have so much and they have so little!

Now those two (and our other three) have grown up and have kids of their own. Our youngest daughter has two children who have inherited her generosity and do things like giving away favorite clothing to help another child who lost everything in a recent tornado. I'm sure our youngest son's daughter will also be generous, but right now she's not quite a year old. Still, she gives her little baby kisses and smiles away all the time!

Warms the heart.

Christmas is something you carry with you in your heart, remembering the most generous gift of all, salvation through Christ Jesus. With that in mind, here's a little early (way early!) Christmas gift for you. Just click on the image to download the freebie!
